As a company, we wear many hats. We produce our own private label BumbleBars and JunoBars and we also function as a copacker. We have processed a variety of products, from granola to snack puffs, and perhaps most importantly we research and develop products for clients with a variety of needs.
Back in 1995, Liz made the very first BumbleBar and pretty soon afterward, she and Glenn set up shop on Vashon Island near Seattle, producing and distributing bars. One of the stores where BumbleBars were available was a community staple called True Value. It’s since become an Ace Hardware, but current employee Katy Sassara reports that the store hasn’t lost any of its local warmth and still sells BumbleBars!
BumbleBar makes simple clean gluten-free food for people who want to eat healthy and/or have dietary restrictions. Because of this, we maintain many certifications. We are certified gluten-free, vegan, , and kosher. Most of us know the first three, but what does kosher mean?
Do you remember the last time you tried something new and found your next favorite thing? How did that happen? Maybe a friend cooked for you or let you try their favorite snack? Maybe you tried a new restaurant? Did you read a great Yelp review and decide to give a new bakery a shot? I recently discovered a delicious thing while I was on vacation in New York and stopped by Double Dutch Espresso in Harlem everyday before I went out sightseeing. Avocado toast seems like a thing everyone knew about but me! It’s an amazingly simple combination that has a toasty and savory flavor profile that provides healthy fats and protein. You just toast the bread of your choice and top it with mashed avocado. I drizzle mine with Sriracha and olive oil. Delicious!
Recently, we were contacted by Thurston County Coalition Against Trafficking. They were planning for the 5k Race Against Trafficking and were curious if BumbleBar was interested in supporting the event. Of course, we were honored to.
We couldn’t be more excited about JunoBar. Named after the Roman Goddess Juno, this certified gluten free & certified bar also shares her qualities of vital energy and eternal youthfulness. As the newest member of the BumbleBar Family, JunoBar is absolutely fantastic. While it makes sense for us to think so, you’ve really got to try it!
Here at BumbleBar, we love sesame seeds! That might seem like a no brainer but we really can’t get enough of them. Besides being a great option for a gluten free energy bar, sesame seeds are calcium-rich and help build strong bones. Sesame seeds contain three times as much calcium as an equivalent amount of milk. And studies show that sesamin, a lignan found only in sesame seeds, is a strong antioxidant that fights free radicals and helps with your cholesterol.
Downward Dogs and Birds of Paradise fueled through the weekend with the support of BumbleBar last weekend. We, in turn, wanted to take a moment to thank the Northwest Yoga Conference for letting us be present at such a fantastic event.
