Salt has a pretty bad reputation. The American Heart Association has warned people against too much consumption because it is known to raise the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other fatal illnesses. However, not all salt is bad for you, just table salt. In fact, research has shown that sea salt, also known as or natural salt, has a number of health benefits. When natural salt is processed into table salt, it is heated up to 1200° Fahrenheit, completely altering the chemical composition and destroying all nutritional benefits. This is the kind of salt that the American Heart Association warns us about, but it is not the kind of salt that we use here at BumbleBar.
