10 Everyday Ways to Lower Your Sodium Intake

We’re in a health food culture right now, which is great. We talk about the effects of gluten, artificial sugar, and the benefits of avoiding animal products, but we don’t seem to talk as much about our sodium intake. Salt is the leading risk factor for high blood pressure and heart disease, yet we still regularly have it in excess. Many of the menu items we order at restaurants pass the daily recommended amount of salt we should consume, and a lot of items at the grocery store aren’t doing much better.

For our final stop on the Tofu Tour, I decided to choose a recipe that was a little different than the other four we’ve made while exploring the different ways to prepare tofu. Tofu Tour: Very Easy Vegan Curry

We’re exploring the different ways we can enjoy tofu and the next stop on the journey has a delightful kick. This was my first time making curry, and I was a little bit intimidated. I’ve heard talk of it from more sophisticated palates all my life, but I’m not entirely sure if I even really knew what it was until making it this weekend.

Curry is an all-encompassing term referencing a variety of recipes from the Indian subcontinent and South Asia. The linking factor is that all curry dishes feature a complicated mixture of herbs and spices that typically include hot chilies. There are dry curries out there, but our recipe is the saucy kind!

The following list is for those people once they get tired of lounging by that fire and want some ideas for what else they could do indoors this winter:
