Here’s a confession: I love chips. Especially salt and vinegar chips. I can’t even say that I finish a whole bag of chips in 2-3 days, because it’s more accurate to say I finish a bag of chips in however long an episode of Bob’s Burgers takes. Usually, if I’ve allowed myself to buy a bag of salt and vinegar chips, it’s opened and I’m eating it right as I get in the door. Full disclosure, I only wait that long now because I had to implement a rule that I’m not allowed to start eating them in THE CAR RIDE HOME anymore.
Ingredient Highlight: Sea Salt
Salt has a pretty bad reputation. The American Heart Association has warned people against too much consumption because it is known to raise the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other fatal illnesses. However, not all salt is bad for you, just table salt. In fact, research has shown that sea salt, also known as or natural salt, has a number of health benefits. When natural salt is processed into table salt, it is heated up to 1200° Fahrenheit, completely altering the chemical composition and destroying all nutritional benefits. This is the kind of salt that the American Heart Association warns us about, but it is not the kind of salt that we use here at BumbleBar.
