Mother Earth’s beautiful abundance of food can be found in all sorts of shapes, sizes, tastes and textures. Because there are just so many ways to eat green, we decided to share a few of our favorite recipes. Check them out below and let us know what your favorite recipe is in the comment section below. What’s Cookin’ Good Lookin’ ?
Be Brave! Try Something New!

Do you remember the last time you tried something new and found your next favorite thing? How did that happen? Maybe a friend cooked for you or let you try their favorite snack? Maybe you tried a new restaurant? Did you read a great Yelp review and decide to give a new bakery a shot? I recently discovered a delicious thing while I was on vacation in New York and stopped by Double Dutch Espresso in Harlem everyday before I went out sightseeing. Avocado toast seems like a thing everyone knew about but me! It’s an amazingly simple combination that has a toasty and savory flavor profile that provides healthy fats and protein. You just toast the bread of your choice and top it with mashed avocado. I drizzle mine with Sriracha and olive oil. Delicious!

Seed to Feed

Ever hear of the seed-to-feed movement? Actually, I just made it up this morning to describe some of what we do. I bet you did not know that we grind our own seed and nut butters to put in the gluten free cookies and bars we make! Each small batch is made fresh.
Check out the humble yet nutrient-dense sunflower seeds we use in our handcrafted seed butter for the clean label food we make for our co-packing clients. First, we start with super fresh delicious raw unsalted sunflower seeds. Then, we mill them in our floor standing food processor. Next, we cool the sunflower butter on trays to maintain its’ freshness. Finally, we make delicious, simple clean food with our premium sunflower seed butter!
The Benefits of Sesame Seeds: Open Sesame!

Here at BumbleBar, we love sesame seeds! That might seem like a no brainer but we really can’t get enough of them. Besides being a great option for a gluten free energy bar, sesame seeds are calcium-rich and help build strong bones. Sesame seeds contain three times as much calcium as an equivalent amount of milk. And studies show that sesamin, a lignan found only in sesame seeds, is a strong antioxidant that fights free radicals and helps with your cholesterol.
There’s No Wrong Way to Eat a Vegan, Gluten Free BumbleBar

A big thanks to this weeks guest blogger, Abby Heugel. Abby is a magazine editor and writer by day and as the sun goes down writes one of the funniest blogs you will be lucky enough to read. Below, Abby opens a window for us into her unique relationship with food and BumbleBars. She loves vegan bars!
Hello! I’m Abby, a blogger, a vegan and a dedicated BumbleBar fan for more than a decade. Considering a) how selective I am with my food and b) I can’t even commit to a hair color for more than a year, that’s really saying something.
BumbleBar + The Northwest Yoga Conference

Authentic Chai Tea Recipe

Here’s a Chai Tea recipe from Northeast India, courtesy of our marketing manager Mary Jantsch. After spending three months in India she learned that chai is the Hindi word for tea so in English we’re really saying ‘tea tea’.
It is absolutely delicious and a perfect winter drink. Let us know if you have a different variation, we’d love to try it!
