Tempeh Time: Vegan Tempeh Gyros with Tzatziki Sauce
If you liked following along to our post on how to make tempeh hot wings, then you are going to love this Vegan Tempeh Gyros recipe with Tzatziki Sauce. The hot wings were good, but I have to say these gyros are better! If you’re in the mood for a great Greek dinner sans any meat or dairy, these are the way to go.
25 Spokane Spring Activities
It’s spring in Spokane! As the weather warms up, we can finally pull out that list of activities we put away for the winter and the cold. Spokane is great because it has a variety of seasonal activities we can enjoy in any weather, but these are the things we might not participate in until we can leave the heavy coat at home.

It’s Jim’s Ninth-iversary!
Today is a big day for the BumbleBar team. Yes, we love St. Patrick’s Day and are offering a big sale in honor of the festivities, but that’s not what we came here to talk about today. Right now we want to talk about our Operations Manager, Jim! Today marks Jim’s ninth anniversary with BumbleBar, and we couldn’t be happier to have him.
Time for Tempeh
You’ve probably heard of tofu and all the ways you can prepare it, but have you heard of tofu’s lesser-known cousin, tempeh? If you like plant-based protein and enjoy tofu, but sometimes want something a little chewier, you should try it!
10 Cookbooks We Use, Love, and Recommend
There’s something really satisfying about making a recipe from start to finish using a cookbook. In this digital age, it’s easy to find how to make almost anything you can imagine online, but we love the art of the cookbook. Beyond being little nuggets of wisdom from bonafide food professionals, they’re ridiculously beautiful creations. If you’re reading this blog, you’re probably a foodie just like us and enjoy the gorgeous culinary photography and design that goes into modern cookbooks. If you’re looking for recommendations, we’ve got ‘em. Here are some of our favorites:
10 Everyday Ways to Lower Your Sodium Intake
We’re in a health food culture right now, which is great. We talk about the effects of gluten, artificial sugar, and the benefits of avoiding animal products, but we don’t seem to talk as much about our sodium intake. Salt is the leading risk factor for high blood pressure and heart disease, yet we still regularly have it in excess. Many of the menu items we order at restaurants pass the daily recommended amount of salt we should consume, and a lot of items at the grocery store aren’t doing much better.
Tofu Tour: Crispy Tofu and Sprouts Sandwich
For our final stop on the Tofu Tour, I decided to choose a recipe that was a little different than the other four we’ve made while exploring the different ways to prepare tofu. We’ve done nuggets, roasted veggie bowls, curry, and mini quiches, but now it’s time for something you can pack for lunch. It’s easy to make, it consists of three fresh ingredients, it comes with a crunch, and you’re going to love it. Without further ado, let’s make a crispy tofu and sprouts sandwich!
Tofu Tour: Mini Veggie Quiches
The next stop on our tour is mini tofu quiches! When choosing these recipes, my main goal has been variety. I want to show several ways one can enjoy tofu, even when one of the steps is to blend it into a purée. That’s not very appetizing to think of but bear with me because this recipe does not disappoint. I’d say these quiches are one of those recipes that you could set down in front of someone and they wouldn’t know the difference between it and the real deal.
